What do former Reagan US Secretary of State George Schultz, Federal Reserve Chirman Paul Volker, the former presidents/prime ministers of Colombia, Mexico, Switzerland, and Brazil all have in common? They were all part of the just concluded Global Commission on Drug Policy, which recognized the abject failure and tremendous damage caused by the drug war. Guest on this show is a former commander in the war on drugs, James Gierach.

Thank you so much Burt, for a show that breaks apart one of those false assumptions of mainstream society's normative value system. Mr. Gierach and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition are on the side "of the angels". I was really touched by Mr. Geirach's down to earth, honest and factual talk on why the drug war is a failure. Even more moved by his sincere sympathy of how much suffering the war on drugs is to the addict. If I may, another(surely there are others)good source promoting the end of the costly and deadly war on drugs is, is Stop the Drug War dot org. God bless you and Mr. Gierach, and all the people against the war on drugs.(yes, many socialists like myself, are also "believers" too).

looking forward to reading more, and getting a more active part in the talks here, whilst picking up some knowledge as well.

I thought you're pertaining to the american author and freelance co-writer, John Gierach. Coz' he's a recipient of 1994 Federation of Fly Fishers Roderick Haig-Brown Award that embodies the philosophy of fly fishing's ethics and environment. So nitwit!
